A game for Discord
Birds turn up in your server. You have to be quick.
Every so often a bird appears in the channel. The first person to type bird gets it — and the catch is scored on how good a look they got, so being fast is only half of it.
How a catch works
Four steps, and exactly one of them is up to you.
A bird appears
Sometimes one, sometimes a flock. Flocks do not say how many are in them.
You type
birdFirst come, first served. If a flock is out, several people can each take one.
The species is rolled
Rarer birds are rarer. What you can catch depends on the spawn pool, which changes for seasonal events.
The sighting is scored
How close it was, how clearly you saw the colour, how big it looked. A poor view of a Legendary still beats a perfect Common — but a perfect Common can edge past a poor Uncommon. Scores overlap with the rarity either side of them and never reach further than that.
Trip checklists
You are given a short list of birds to find. Tick them all off and every rarity gets a little more likely for the next two weeks — and the boost stacks, so finishing one checklist makes the next one easier.
Stuck with something you will never see? /swapchecklist trades it for another, twice a day.
